How AI Engines Decide Which Cleaning Companies to Recommend in Dubai

Four search engines. One question. The answers barely overlapped. If you run a cleaning business in Dubai, that gap is where your next customers are being won and lost.

The Short Version

I asked the same question to Google, ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Gemini. “Best cleaning company in Dubai.” The company topping Google appeared in none of the AI answers. Google’s other results showed partial overlap at best. The names that showed up across the AI engines shared three traits: High review volume. Clearly listed services and hours. Structured, verifiable business details. Ranking on Google and being recommended by AI are now two different games. Most Dubai cleaning companies are only playing one.

Why I ran this test

Customers have changed how they search. Many now ask an AI assistant “who is the best cleaning company near me?” instead of scrolling Google. In 2026, generative AI tools rank among the top sources people use for local business recommendations. So I checked something specific. Are the businesses winning on Google the same ones the AI engines name? I ran the same query across four surfaces. Here is what each one said.

1. Google: the traditional blue links

Google results for “best cleaning company in Dubai”.

Google led with VR Cleaning, a company established in 2007. Then a “Top 10” listicle from an aggregator. Then McKleenz and Urban Company. This is classic SEO territory. Older domains, roundup articles, big platform brands. Nothing unusual here. Then look at what the AI engines said. VR Cleaning, Google’s top result, appeared in none of the three AI answers. McKleenz showed up on Google and in ChatGPT and AI Mode, but not in Gemini. The aggregator roundup that ranked second on Google drove none of the AI answers directly. Ranking on Google is not the same as being recommended by AI. Sometimes there is overlap. Often there is not. The signals that decide each are different.

2. ChatGPT: ranked by reviews and reputation

ChatGPT’s ranked shortlist.

ChatGPT returned a ranked shortlist with a clear logic. Rating and review volume. McKleenz took the top slot with around 2,389 reviews. Then Dubai Housekeeping, DCS, BusyBees, and The Healthy Home. Look at what it rewarded. Not the company ranking first on Google. The ones with the deepest, most verifiable review histories.

3. Gemini: organised by service and use case

Gemini’s answer, grouped by use case.

Gemini did something different. It grouped companies by what they are best for. Recurring home cleaning. Post-construction. On-demand app booking. For each one it listed key services, operating hours, and a “best for” line. This is the telling part. Gemini reads and rewards structured detail. Companies that expose their services, hours, and specialities get pulled in. Companies with vague “we are the best in Dubai” copy do not.

4. Google AI Mode: a comparison table

Google AI Mode built a comparison table.

AI Mode built a clean table. Company name. Google rating and review count. Key speciality. Operating hours. Look at the columns it needed to fill. Rating, reviews, speciality, hours. Every one is a structured, verifiable fact. Publish them clearly and you are eligible for the table. Leave them vague and you are not.

What the four answers share

Line the results up side by side. Three patterns are impossible to miss.

Engine Who it favoured What it rewarded
Google links VR Cleaning, listicles, Urban Company Domain age, roundups, brand size
ChatGPT McKleenz, Dubai Housekeeping, The Healthy Home Rating and review volume
Gemini Dubai Housekeeping, Helpsters, ServiceMarket Clear services, hours, “best for”
AI Mode The Healthy Home, McKleenz, DCS Rating, reviews, speciality, hours

01 · Ranking first on Google does not mean AI recommends you

The company at the top of Google’s links appeared in none of the three AI answers. One name, McKleenz, surfaced almost everywhere. AI visibility is earned separately from search ranking.

02 · AI engines reward verifiable structure

Services. Hours. Speciality. Rating. Review count. The engines that gave the richest answers were the ones reading structured business data. This is exactly what schema markup and a well-organised Google Business Profile provide.

03 · Reviews are doing real work

The Healthy Home with over 7,600 reviews and McKleenz with over 2,300 recur across engines. I will not pretend otherwise. Some AI visibility comes down to review depth on your Google Business Profile, not just your website. The businesses that win combine both. A strong review base and clean, machine-readable details.

An honest limitation

These are single-session results from one location on one day. AI answers shift with the user’s location, past activity, and the moment you ask. This is a snapshot that reveals a pattern, not a fixed leaderboard. Run the same test tomorrow and the order may move. The pattern holds. Structured, well-reviewed, clearly described businesses win the AI answer.

What this means if you run a cleaning business in Dubai

You invested in SEO. You rank on Google. That is necessary and no longer sufficient. When a customer asks ChatGPT or Gemini instead of searching, a different set of signals decides whether your name comes up. The good news. Those signals are things you control. How clearly your business describes itself in machine-readable terms. How well your Google Business Profile is maintained. Most of your competitors have not made these changes yet. That is your opening.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn’t my cleaning company show up when I ask ChatGPT?

Usually because the AI cannot find clear, structured, verifiable information about your business. Services, location, hours, and a solid base of recent reviews. AI assistants favour businesses they can confirm and describe confidently. Vague website copy gives them nothing to cite.

Is ranking on Google enough to be recommended by AI?

No. In this test, the company ranking first on Google appeared in none of the AI engines’ answers. Search ranking and AI recommendation depend on overlapping but different signals. A business needs to be visible in both.

What actually gets a business cited by AI search?

A combination. Clearly structured business information that machines can read, being services, hours, speciality, and location. Plus a strong, recent base of genuine reviews. The engines that gave the most detailed answers were the ones reading structured business data.

Do these AI results change over time?

Yes. AI answers vary by location, personal history, and timing, so the exact list shifts. What stays consistent is the pattern. Well-structured, well-reviewed businesses keep appearing.
